Description:

A Spano Enterprises job site at Ashlan and Blythe in Fresno has been vandalized the last two weekends.  Cutting and taking romex wire and copper tubing.

The incidents have happened at dusk or early sunrise.  The units that were stripped of wire were at least four to five at a time.  The entire building was in the process of being lathed which made access inside very easy.  They would cut the romex wiring in each stud bay so that they would have short pieces.

At present the damage has been considerable.  They have had to rewire the entire building twice.

Spano Enterprises now has security at night on this job.

Description:
I got a call on Christmas Eve from a concerned citizen who said that he knew where there was a piece of stolen equipment (he saw our signs on a jobsite).  I called the Police Dept. and reported what he had told me and after a couple of Deputies went out to check on this equipment they fournd that the idenficiation plates had been removed.  To make a long story short the skip loader that was stolen almost 2 1/2 years ago was returned to Tri-County Grading & Paving.
Our tipster in this instance received a $1,000.00 reward.

Company Name:

Date:
Jim Crawford Construction, Inc.9-13-07
Description:

Upon arrival at the jobsite in South Fresno, workers found several windows broken and damaged on various pieces of large construction equipment.
The damage was estimated to be in excess of $5,000.00.
One of Jim Crawford Construction's low bed trucks was dispatched to the jobsite to begin movine the damaged equipment for repair.  When the truck reached the jobsite, two young boys approached the driver.  The boys explained they had seen the CICP signs located at the jobsite and wanted to pass on their knowledge of the crime.
The Fresno Police department was contacted, and the suspects are under investigation thanks to the tip from the two youngsters.
At this time, no arrests have been made, possibly due to the fact the suspects are minors.
On May 7th, however, the construction equipment on the same job site was receiving gunfire while employees of Crawford Construction were on and around the equipment.  The employees his behind the equipment and no one was injured.  We suspect this is in retaliation to police investigation.
The board has elected to provide a $500.00 reward to the two boys who reported the initial crime information.  The boys will remain anonymous and the checks will be delivered by Shelly Crawford, CEO of Jim Crawford Construction and she will be accompanied by her dispatcher.  This will be done in the strictest of confidence to protect the boys.
